18-19 Record: 21-7

The Panthers race into this season with a full court attack including four returning starters including VYPE Top 100 choice Cade Dean (6-3, Sr) who distributed 3-plus assists while collecting 5.5 rebounds on top of this 18.3 points per game totals.  Wacey Williams (6-5, Sr.) will be a double tough assignment after producing 11.1 points plus 9.5 rebounds per game. The Panthers perimeter scoring gets another advantage from Ethan Hodgens (6-3, Jr.), along with Kaiden Bear (5-10, So.) made a splash as a freshman averaging 10.2 points on top of 7.1 assists and rebounds. Kurtis Wilson (6-3, So.) made the most of his minutes on the court totaling 8.0 points while grabbing 5.0 rebounds and passing out three assists. Points from the bench will be another plus with Mikey Cruz (5-8, Jr.) and Aaron Little (6-0, Jr.) targeted for game time minutes. “We’ve got proven performers now we have to build on that in order to be in the race for the Big House,” said head coach Devin Terry. 

GIRLS

The Lady Panthers have one mission to start the season as three starters return to the lineup. “One word…focUS,” said coach Will Seymour. “Our success will result from our ability to focUS on what we do and make it better.” A quartet of guards who gained valuable experience a year ago including Cameron Duncan (5-6, Sr.), Sophie Turner (5-5, Jr.), Abby Harrelson (5-7, So.) and Taylor Haberman (5-6, So.) will lead the efforts for Okemah along with Emily Harris (5-6, So.), Jenna Berryhill, Madison Morris and Maycee Losh. “We’re still a young group but one that understands what’s required to be successful,” said Seymour.
