Spiro’s Malik Roberson – Tote-A-Poke Athlete of the Month

The quick success for the Spiro Bulldogs the opening four weeks of the football season evolved around the running talents of senior tailback Malik Roberson. The 5-8 1805 pound senior averaged better than 11 yards per attempt totaling 781 yards rushing on just 69 carries including a three-peat of 200+ yard performances in the Spiro backfield plus contributed defensive highlights playing an outside linebacker position. A part of Spiro’s starting lineup since his freshman campaign, Roberson has rushed for 3,754 yards in his career including 40 trips to the end zone.

“Malik has become a team leader this season,” said Spiro’s Hall of Fame head coach Chris Bunch. “In addition to study his assignments, he makes all of the lineman meetings so he has the a knowledge of what they’re doing which makes him a better running back. Through his consistent inspiration and encouragement, Malik continues to be a big help with the younger players, which makes us a more complete football team.”
